Sketchdump 2

Being sick with a fever gets boring..
So Ive spent some time in my Artrage archives. Sketches are a good way to practice drawing-tablet-skills, be creative and relax at the same time. At least for me it is.

Debate(?)

Given topic: Political Debate
Made in Artrage in a hurry, just for fun

From my point of view they are just swinging at each other. Anyways, do you see my subtle opinion?

I made a logo for a band called "pigfish" !
A little favor to my friend Jonathan who is the vocalist! And also just for fun..

Music saves me sometimes.

Plastic

"Plastic" you say, like its something negative. If you only knew;
some of my best friends are made of plastic..

Hey everybody!
I`ve had a wonderful summer vacation! Among all the things I did, I had my birthday!
And my birthday-wish came true when I got a tablet from my boyfriend! (He is the best)
So this is my first real drawing, that was supposed to be something else than just testing the tablet;)
I`m looking forward to practicing this skill! Seeing progress!

Well, now my hands hurt...

Cheers!

A mind`s factory

I thought to myself that maybe there is a little factory in my mind, making up all the silly little things I imagine. And that I would try to draw it. I also decided to use whatever I first came up with, witch was a corn kernel escaping the popcorn factory!

Drunk and lost

My take at the Challenge "drunk"
Made on my Ipad.
Cheers!

Creative Trade:Laura Kay from Diarysketches

A while ago I came across a sweet blog called http://diarysketches.blogspot.com. Laura, the lady behind it, has a really cute illustration style and a sweet expression. We agreed on doing a "blog-trade", where we both worked to illustrate the quote:

"Not all those who wander are lost"

From the poem "All that is gold does not glitter" by Tolkien.
( witch happens to be one of my favorite poems, hihi)

This is what she has to say to us , my lovelies:

Hi I 'm Laura, the artist and blogger behind http://diarysketches.blogspot.com/ . Most of my childhood was spent in my room surrounded by paints, cut up papers and all sorts of materials. Although I'm older now and a bit more mature, my burning love for art has never dwindled. I am currently amidst my degree for desktop and web publishing, however I'm on break this semester doing what I really love- illustrating a children's book (or two). Thanks Maria for the great idea of having a blog trade with me on the quote "not all those who wander are lost". Wandering is fun, that's how I came across so many wonderful art blogs including www.eiforandring.com ! Good luck in all that you do!

Head over to her blog to check out more of her work!

My illustration of the quote:

I had so much fun working side by side like this.
Should I do more trades like this?

A good excuse..

...to hide away
Here it is!This is my contribution to the Monday Artday`s challenge "Rain".
I`ve really gotten into using textures like paint now. Its like painting, the textures and scratches almost look real. I Still have much to learn, but as long as Im having fun, its fine!

Sketched on my Ipad, painted and textured on my computer.

little monsters INC.

Well, the other day I made a tutorial on how to make those paper-snowflakes from pre-school. Me and my brother had much fun looking at the patterns as they appeared on the paper. He commented on one : "it looks like a mad bull!"
And from that little outburst an idea grew in me. And the result?
A tiny little monster-factory. It reminds me of the days of design lectures in High School. A challenge to make something different within the same shapes repeatedly. I had fun.

Wiw, some day last week

I find drawings in my sketch book that I haven't finished yet. so I scan them in and color them digitally. I find it fun, and soothing to play around, add some layers and texture. Not especially challenging, but still I like it:) Everything doesn't have to be a challenge, that's nice!

wiw( what i wore)

For about a month ago I said that I was going to post outfits on my regular blog. Well, it takes some getting used to. I usually end up going out or messing up my outfits before I remember to take a picture of it! But I do remember what I wore, so I drew some! woop woop. So much fun!

just because

call me silly, but I like these kinds of things! the pink-blog tcmn.blogg.no has a logo competition for her russe-buss(google it), and I joined! She is such a cutiepie, hehe;)

My entry is very sketch-like, and I dont bother to polish it, before I get a feedback that they like the idea. haha Lazy-o..

step two: adding another russ, would it fit on a purple sweater?

Ipad drawings!

As you might have seen on my previous posts, I am using my new Ipad to draw. I find it exciting and fun, tho I'm not very good at it yet. Drawing on a touch sensitive surface with your fingers is something else than good old paper! And its also really different from drawing on the computer with a drawing tablet!
I am using the app sketchbook express, it cost about 40 nok, and is very user friendly. If you like to doodle and try new things, like me, I recommend it:)

This first one was my first attempt. I was surprised by the texture and flow in the brushes.

The portraits below are all unfinished, but I think you can see a slight improvement!

Il`l show you the final results when they are done..

This last one was made with Nymphadora from Harry Potter in my mind, but Now I see that it really looks more like Kate Winslet. Hmm
This is so much fun:)

Creativity comes and goes as she pleases

I am currently not very creative. So I dug down in my archive.
Here is what I found.
Enjoy:)

Day 19:Something new!

Im in Spain at the moment, and I have bought a lot of new stuff. But I wanted to draw the dress I wore today: a blue/turquoise lace dress.. Woop woop the challenge must go on;)
